Base Maintenance

Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility of the Cochin International Aviation Services Limited, at the Cochin International Airport (CIAL) is spread over an area of 45000sqm.

The aircraft MRO facility comprises two narrow body aircraft hangars of 2750 sqm each, both equipped with automated doors and an associated area of over 6500 sqm for workshops and other facilities, across two floors. Aircraft parking bays across approximately 32000 sqm and an engine run up Jet Blast Deflector also form part of the facility infrastructure, leaving significant room for growth & expansion.

The state-of-the-art facility leased to Airworks, commissioned in early 2021 is today approved by both EASA and India’s DGCA and equipped to undertake the full MPD maintenance tasks for the Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 family of aircraft.

Consequently, Cochin International Airport has already begun attracting leading Indian as well as Middle East carriers such Air Asia, Go Air, IndiGo, Vistara, Jazeera Airways, who have begun using the Air Works’ MRO facility for both commercial as well as business advantage, helping strengthen the Govt’s vision of making CIAL a leading MRO destination.

Air Works and CIALs partnership is well-placed to utilize upcoming opportunities as aircraft carriers and operators endeavor to reduce their engineering and maintenance costs, in order to offset the highly volatile macroeconomic challenges including fuel costs and forex outflows.
